Thanks to all who took part in the sponsored cycle ride through the wild Hertfordshire countryside and thank you to all those who sponsored them, you have raised in the region of £500 for the children in The Gambia.

Well done

Well done Elinor (on the left) who completed the Great South Run in aid of HELPING.

With her help more children in The Gambia can now look forward to a meal every school day.

Spanish Night

Friday 10th October, Spanish Night at Hertford Corn Exchange

The Essex Guitar Group and Las Palomas Flamenco Dancers were fantastic and helped raise a grand total of £750 for the children in the Gambia.

Everyone had an enjoyable evening, listening to the music, dancing along with Las Palomas Dancers and eating tapas.

The Dancers gave a workshop and got everyone up dancing, everyone left with a few new dance moves to show their friends!

Thanks must also go to Karen Iles for the tapas which were enjoyed by all and also the staff (especially Chris) of the Corn Exchange who did a great job all night.

Great South Run

On Sunday 26th October a young lady named Elinor Ross will be taking part in the BUPA Great South Run - 10 miles around Portsmouth.
She will be running for the charity "HELPING" and if anyone would like to sponsor her she and HELPING and the children of The Gambia would be most grateful.

Irish night 2008 success

The annual Irish music night was this year held at a new venue the Shamrock Club in Welwyn Garden City. For the £5 entry there were two fabulous bands plus some traditional Irish dancing and the usual raffle. The event was attended by over 150 people who all had a good time and a few even did some dancing!
The charity managed to raise £1175 which will go to support our projects in The Gambia.

Our thanks go to everyone who supported the event especially the two bands, the dancers and the staff at the Shamrock Club for their hospitality.

We look forward to seeing you all next year!
