Our 5th Annual Childrens walk

Photo by kind permission of Hertfordshire Mercury

This years walk went off well despite the uncertain weather, we had lots of children and adults and one sponsored dog. The amount raised this year is approximately £400 (some sponsorships still to come in)

Everyone enjoyed the walk and the children had a good time at the playground and everyone had a snack and a drink, including the dog.

We would like to thank all those who turned up and walked and also the Mercury for the photo and article which they printed.

We look forward to meeting you all again on next years walk.

Wedding gift for The Gambia

Lisa Meeks and Gavin Osborne from Ware, members of helping, will be getting married on August 4th and instead of presents have asked guests to donate to help build a nursery at a village called Fass..

The village elders and community have given them a piece of land, the villagers will do the building and they hope to build a two classroom nursery complete with toilets at a cost of approx £8000.

The nursery will be called The Osborne Helping nursery and they are hoping to be able to sponsor teachers and children as well.

The picture shows Lisa and Gavin with the teachers and some of the children outside the derelict building they are using at present.
